How to Juice Cleanse

A juice cleanse is a great way to help you kickstart healthy habits!

The first step is to prep! Prepare your body with a *drum-roll*... Pre-Cleanse!

Pre-Cleanse (1-3 Days Before)

1. Increase your consumption of high quality water, fresh fruits, and raw vegetables. Shoot for at least 64 ounces of water, high water content fruit throughout the day, and at least one large salad per day.

2. Eliminate processed foods, high fructose corn syrup, fried foods, canola oil, soda, alcohol, junk food, white and brown sugar, table salt (Pink Himalayan salt it ok), white flour, soy products, dairy products, and bread containing yeast.

3. Make meals at home and stick to whole food ingredients (fruits, vegetables, and herbs).

During Your Cleanse (1-3 Days)

1. Start your day with 1oz of your ginger shot followed by 16oz of high quality water.
2. Chew your first sip of juice before swallowing to get your digestive system ready. (Swish the first sip of juice in your mouth like mouthwash) In order to reduce the amount of fruit sugars sticking to your teeth, we recommend using a straw to drink juices, rinsing your mouth with water, and remembering to brush your teeth.
3. Drink all 7 bottles in a day by drinking 1 bottle every 2 hours. Drink high quality water throughout the day, in between juices. The juices are for nutrients. The water is to help flush things out. It is normal to use the bathroom often.
4. Most do not get a hungry on the cleanse, but if you do, a great tip is to squeeze 1/2 lemon or lime juice into 16oz of water. Drinking hot non-caffeinated herbal teas are also helpful to curb cravings.
5. Listen to your body. If you are going to eat, we recommend fresh, raw single ingredient foods (apples, cucumbers, grapes, watermelon, etc) Eat one fruit at a time. Do not mix them.
6. Move your body. Movement helps move waste through our lymphatic system. Although it is possible to do a hardcore workout during a cleanse, we recommend nature walks, yoga, tai chi, Qigong, and meditation.
7. There is no way you can "fail" at juice cleansing. As long as you drink your juices, you are providing your body with a ton vitamins and nutrients from a high quality organic source made with love. Your body will benefit either way and thank you for it.

Body Responses
Everyone's body responds differently to juice cleanses. It is recommended to talk to your doctor to learn your unique recommendations for juice cleanses.
Most people do not experience any noticeable body responses besides using the bathroom...ALOT. However, it is normal to have a slight headache, some fatigue, bad breath/thick white film on tongue, etc. Some results include weight loss, skin improvement, digestion improvement, mental clarity, relief of bloating.

Maximize Your Juice Cleanse Experience
1. Set an intention. A big part of juice cleansing is having an intention to keep you focused.
2. Remember your WHY - Remember why you started the juice cleanse in the first place and remind yourself throughout the course of your journey.
3. Journal to stay inspired. Document any feelings, thoughts, visions, and goals.
4. Get daily fresh air and sunlight
5. Take relaxing baths with high quality bath salt
6. Invite your friends! Cleanse with a friend for support and accountability!
7. Watch videos or read books about the benefits of juice cleanses. What better way to stay motivated than to watch or read about the journey you're already on.
Post Cleanse (1-3 Days After)
1. Have your first meal be 1 high water content fruit. We usually go for seeded watermelons, papayas, or fully ripened pineapple. Continue with 1-2 fruits throughout the first half of the day.
2. If desired, eat a raw salad for lunch. Avoid animal protein on the first day after your cleanse.
3. If desired, eat something warm for dinner (vegetable soup, steamed veggies, oatmeal, etc)
4. Maintain a plant-based lifestyle by eating fresh whole foods, fruits, vegetables, herbs, nuts, seeds and (if you are not vegan) high quality animal protein from your local farmers or fresh market. Continue yoga, meditation, journaling, exercise, nature walks, and getting sunlight. If you need more assistance, contact us at 443-267-2007 or We're happy to help you in setting and keeping your goals!
